Dalka Times:The first time I saw a road with the name Mogadishu was in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya. This road is located in the industrial area of Nairobi. After some time, I kept seeing roads named after foreign cities and countries, and I had the idea to know how many roads in the world are named after the country of Somalia or its capital, Mogadishu.
After much research, I found roads around the world with the name of Somalia or Mogadishu. Here I have collected for you the countries where they are located, pictures and maps of those roads.
Mexico
Mexico is a country in the North American continent that is a neighbor of the United States. Somalis know this country very well and it has been made famous by the migration trips that many Somalis go through on their way to the United States.
I found a street called Somalia in the neighborhood of Ciudad Valles. This district is located in the region of San Luis Potosi, which is more than 600 kilometers from the capital of Mexico City in the north of the country.
Italy
There are three roads in Italy with the name of Somalia. And they are Via Somalia located in Carmona, Milan in the Lombardy region in northern Italy. There are also two streets in the Italian capital of Roma and they say; Viala Somalia and Largo Somalia.

United States
There are three roads in the United States with the name Somalia. They are located in the states of Minnesota, Virginia, and Florida. Somali Street, Minneapolis is the first city that can be expected to have a street named after Somalia. The reason is that this region is very welcoming to Somalis, it is very stable and has helped them a lot.
There is also Somalia Street in Sebring in Florida and Mogadishu Street in Norfolk Virginia.
Ethiopia
In Ethiopia, which is our neighbor, there is a street called Somalia Street. This road is located in the capital of the country, Addis Ababa. If there are countries that honor some of their roads with the name of Somalia, they should be among the neighboring countries. Ethiopia filled that role.
Kenya
As I mentioned above, the capital of Kenya, Nairobi, has a road named after the capital of Somalia. The name of this road is Mogadishu Road, and it is located in the industrial area of Nairobi. The Kenyan coastal city of Mombasa also has a road called Mogadishu Road. Like Ethiopia, Kenya has emerged from its role of honor in Somalia
Tanzania
We were not there in Tanzania, which of course has a historical relationship with Somalia. There are two roads in Tanzania that have been honored in Somalia. They are as follows;
Somali Street, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
Somali Road, Arusha, Tanzania
Yemen
There is also a road in the Yemeni capital Sana’a named after the Somali capital Mogadishu. Mogadishu Street, Sana’a, Yemen
South Africa
South Africa has become the country that gave Somalia the greatest honor, and you can find most of the roads with the name of Somalia and its capital. The roads in South Africa with the name Somalia and the capital Mogadishu are as follows;
