Deputy Force Commander of the Somali Police Force Jen. Zakiya Hussein Ahmed said large-scale operations have been ongoing in Mogadishu, and arrested 23 Somali police officers.
She said the soldiers were arrested for allegedly being involved in corrupt practices against their duties and said that the recent arrests would be brought to justice.
On the other hand, Jen. Zakiya Hussein Ahmed said that a vehicle was returned to some of the city’s streets today, suspicious of the suspects who were denied access to the vehicle and attempted to bribe them to release them have not been examined.
She called on the Somali community to co-operate with the security agencies in the country to ensure security, and oversee the ongoing operations in the city for security.
