The President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, who is spending the fourth night in Garowe, Puntland, has a special meeting with the leaders of Puntland culture and tradition.
A statement from the President’s office said that the meeting took place at the Presidency of the Puntland state and was a consultative meeting.
“The President, accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abshir Omar Huruuse, listened to Puntland’s leaders and intellectuals for their advice and development role in strengthening the government and the unity of the Somali people,” the statement said.
Tonight’s meeting is coming after the President’s meetings in Garowe with the leaders of Puntland, which reached an understanding, as announced by the parties last night.
President Hassan Sheikh inspected several centers today and heard reports from the institutions and agencies of Water Development, Roads and Resource Management, the Central Bank Administration, and the Independent Election Commission of Puntland.
Early this morning it was said that President Hassan Sheikh would return to Mogadishu. His trip, which was originally planned to take two days, ended up being four days.
