The special envoy of the JFS President in charge of humanitarian affairs and drought relief, Md. MP Abdirahman Abdishakur Warsame had a meeting with the Vice President of Islamic Development Bank Dr. Zameer Iqbal.
The two officials discussed how the Islamic Bank would provide emergency financial assistance and relief to the severe drought in our country Somalia.
Dr. Zamiir Iqbal, the Acting President (ISDB), has promised that the bank will work with the Somali government in drought relief and in general efforts to prevent the drought from turning into a famine.
The Islamic Development Bank has recently come to the aid of the vulnerable communities affected by drought and conflict in Afghanistan, in order to meet the urgent humanitarian needs.
