Israel has banned Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib who both are members of the US House of Representatives from their planed visit to the West Bank in Palastine, Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely announced today.

“The decision has been made, they should not be allowed to come here,” Hotovely told Reshet Radio in Israel.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu consulted with members of his cabinet on Wednesday, ahead of the announcement today. Palestinian Tlaib was born in Michigan USA, while Ihaan Omar from Somalia migrated to the US, Minnesota.

Both MPs have strongly criticized Israeli politics. President Trump tweeted today: “It will show a great weakness” if Israel allows the pair to visit. Trump added, “They hate Israel and all the Jews, and there is nothing that can be said or done to change their mind.”

Israeli ambassador to the United States, Ron Dermer, said last month that Rashida and Ilhan will be allowed to visit, to honor the US Congress and Israel-US relations.

Political analysts believe the change in Israel’s position is due to their support for Trump’s willingness to adopt his strict policies toward the two girls. Rashida and Ilhan were planing to visit the blessed mosque in Al-Aqsa.
